Â鶹ÊÓƵ has won four consecutive Gold STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System) Assessment, and it’s thanks in part to campus systems and organizations such as the Food Recovery Network (FRN).

Faced with the challenge of finding affordable clothes for teaching internships, the EDSE Council developed a new resource: a teacher clothing closet for any student who needs it.

The intersection of art and technology has long been a space for innovation, creativity, and exploration. At George Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Â鶹ÊÓƵ Autonomy and Robotics Center (MARC) located within the College of Engineering and Computing, this connection has taken center stage with the Integrating Art and Tech Project.

During the fall 2024 semester, Â鶹ÊÓƵ students had the opportunity to apply their classroom curriculum to a real-world museum environment. The students, led by art history professor Robert DeCaroli, worked directly with objects in the holdings of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Asian Art as part of the ARTH 495/595 Curating an Exhibit course.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ has received Virginia Board of Education funding for two of 14 lab schools being established around the commonwealth.

Stanley and Rosemary Hayes Jones continue their legacy of philanthropy at Â鶹ÊÓƵ with a transformative $1 million gift to establish the Stanley and Rosemary Hayes Jones Networking Testbed Lab within the Fuse at Â鶹ÊÓƵ Square building.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ Community Arts Academy has been named one of the Best Summer Camps by  Northern Virginia Magazine every year since 2021. This summer, the program broke multiple records including the number of student participants at just under 1,900. The Acting for Young People program also broke its attendance record with 950 students.

George Â鶹ÊÓƵ researcher David Luther is leading a project that is using AI models to help identify species and track biodiversity in Brazilian rainforests.

Each year, the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Alumni Association’s annual Celebration of Distinction recognizes outstanding alumni, faculty members, and students.

The Hylton Performing Arts Center opened its doors at Â鶹ÊÓƵ in 2010, and Marit Majeske, education coordinator, has been along for the ride ever since. Located on George Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Science and Technology Campus in Manassas, Virginia, the Hylton Center is managed by the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
