Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ believes that our diverse community fosters creativity, problem-solving innovation, and meaningful service. This ethos has earned us Virginia’s distinction as the most diverse university. There’s always something happening at George Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ! From festivals and world-renowned guest speakers, to crafting sessions and video game competitions, the events hosted by our more than 500 student organizations will keep your social calendar packed. Every week features exciting events on our campuses that will inspire you to meet new people, try out something new, and get out of—or into—your comfort zone.

The hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including concerts, movie nights, guest lectures, and themed celebrations. International Week celebrates the many cultures and heritages of our students and culminates in an epic dance competition that’s a longstanding university tradition. , one of the university's largest annual events, features live music, carnival rides, and delicious food options.

With George Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s more than 500 student organizations, the trouble won’t be finding something to do and people to hang out with—it’ll be narrowing down the choices. Manga, esports, crocheting, a cappella singing, language conversational groups, recreational sports, service organizations, and more are just some of the ways you can find your people and your niche when .

Throughout George Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s history, we've sought ways to support, enrich, empower, and celebrate the lived experiences of our student body. A robust network of campus cultural and social centers provides resources, programs, and venues for our students to explore the intersections of their identities, connect with others, and learn from others' perspectives.

Innovation often starts with curiosity and the right tools to explore it. offers students a hands-on makerspace where ideas come to life through 3D printing, laser cutting, woodworking, textiles, and prototyping equipment. More than just a fabrication lab, it's a collaborative environment where makers of all skill levels learn from each other, experiment fearlessly, and turn "what if" moments into tangible creations that could change the world.

Sometimes the best conversations happen when you're just hanging out.  offers students a laid-back environment to unwind, connect with friends, and make new ones over billiards, table games, and friendly competition. More than just a game room, it's a space where stress melts away between classes and lasting friendships form over a game of eight-ball. Our expansive facilities and programs include aquatic centers, cardio and strength training areas, sports courts, an indoor track, outdoor walking/jogging paths, ropes and challenge courses, group fitness classes, club and intramural sports, and more.
