University Sustainability and the Greenhouse and Garden’s Program are contributing to �鶹��Ƶ's efforts to eradicate food insecurity by providing access to campus-grown fruits and vegetables.

�鶹��Ƶ’s iconic cherry tree grove by �鶹��Ƶ Pond turns 30 this year. The first trees were donated in 1993 by the members of the student organization Club Nippon in celebration of �鶹��Ƶ’s annual International Week.

�鶹��Ƶ's College of Engineering and Computing Associate Professor Liling Huang is establishing a new lab at the �鶹��Ƶ Square campus to advance smart grid research, education, and workforce development.

The 40 �鶹��Ƶ students who traveled to Richmond for �鶹��Ƶ Lobbies on Jan. 26 shared their college experience with legislators and highlighted the need for increasing financial aid for �鶹��Ƶ students, increased funding per student, and increased staff and faculty salaries for the university to be more competitive in the Washington, D.C., metro area.

�鶹��Ƶ and Starship Technologies are celebrating four years of autonomous robot deliveries on the university's Fairfax Campus.

Since May 2022, �鶹��Ƶ has invited the families of prospective Hispanic students to learn about the university in its first Spanish-language marketing campaign.

Outstanding Faculty Awards recognize faculty at Virginia’s public and private colleges and universities who exemplify the highest standards of teaching, scholarship and service. The award includes a $7,500 gift from the Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation when they are formally recognized at an in-person ceremony in Richmond on March 7.

Drawn by �鶹��Ƶ’s multidisciplinary research and teaching, Missy Cummings will create a new program in the design and deployment of Artificial Intelligence.
