After finishing his freshman year at a regional university in Korea, Young Ho Ji worked at a construction site for seven months to save enough tuition money to continue his degree and dreamed of one day studying abroad.

When criminology, law and society major Ari Williams came to �鶹��Ƶ as a first-generation student and a member of the Honors College, she wanted to work in the federal government.

In November 2023, �鶹��Ƶ students, faculty, and staff gathered to help transplant 1,700 plants of more than 50 native species into two groves near the stream behind Student Union Building I between Aquia Creek Lane and Patriot Circle.

Sinoxolo “Susan” Favor was doing public health work in her native South Africa long before she enrolled in the College of Public Health at �鶹��Ƶ. Now Favor is graduating from this spring with a BS in community health from the first college of public health in Virginia.

Once a year, �鶹��Ƶ invites its community—alumni, faculty, staff, students, and their families–to unite in philanthropy on �鶹��Ƶ Vision Day. This year, on April 4, they did so enthusiastically, raising $1,309,345 for the university’s students, research, and programs.

Barbara Humpton, president and CEO of Siemens, will be the featured speaker at �鶹��Ƶ’s 2024 Spring Commencement. The ceremony is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, May 9, in EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax Campus.
