George �鶹��Ƶ undergraduate Jasmine Haskins is the first recipient of the Bill Miller BFA Scholarship in Creative Writing.

James W. “Jimmy” Hazel, JD ’84, has led a life of service to the Commonwealth of Virginia—and to �鶹��Ƶ. He recently added to his considerable legacy with a gift of $1 million for the Smithsonian-�鶹��Ƶ School of Conservation.

�鶹��Ƶ's College of Visual and Performing Arts celebrates a successful 2024 ARTS by George! raising more than $250,000 to support �鶹��Ƶ Arts. The evening featured Tony and Olivier Award winner Lea Salonga.

Headlined by award-winning singer and actress Lea Salonga, the annual benefit event raises funds for student scholarships at the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA). Since its launch in 2006, ARTS by George! has raised more than $4.1 million for �鶹��Ƶ Arts.

In an effort to support the pipeline of urgently needed special education teachers, the Behrmanns have created a scholarship for George �鶹��Ƶ undergraduates working in the �鶹��Ƶ LIFE program.

�鶹��Ƶ President Gregory Washington was the featured speaker at the Economic Club of Washington, D.C., Scholarship Ceremony on June 20 and met with scholarship recipients coming to George �鶹��Ƶ this fall.

On June 10, 2024, more than 110 golfers came together at Westfields Golf Club to support first-generation students through �鶹��Ƶ’s Diversity Scholarship Golf Classic.

Building on his ongoing commitment to �鶹��Ƶ Korea, advisory board member Sam Machour recently announced a new $60,000 pledge for student scholarships. The announcement was made during the Friends of �鶹��Ƶ Korea 10th Anniversary Celebration.

Students, donors, and �鶹��Ƶ staff enjoyed an evening of gratitude at this year's Scholarship Dinner, with 200 guests in attendance to hear students’ stories of impact. More than 1,100 scholarships have been awarded in FY 24, totaling more than $3.5 million.

A new Hazel–Peterson Scholarship fund has been established in the name of the Hazel and Peterson families to support undergraduate students pursuing a minor in real estate development at the Costello College of Business of �鶹��Ƶ.
