Â鶹ÊÓƵ President Gregory Washington was the featured speaker at the Economic Club of Washington, D.C., Scholarship Ceremony on June 20. Washington is on the Economic Club’s board of directors.

Each year, Economic Club Chairman David M. Rubenstein awards college scholarships to students from D.C. public schools. Fifty honorees this year each received $20,000 scholarships, and four of those students are headed to George Â鶹ÊÓƵ, including China Jones-Burgess (left) and Morgan Shirley (right). Not pictured are Melissa Ivy and Ayrrika James who also will be attending Â鶹ÊÓƵ this fall.

In 16 years, Rubenstein has awarded 761 scholarships, totaling nearly $12 million. Rubenstein spoke at George Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Spring Commencement in .
