�鶹��Ƶ’s Contemporary Student Services has been recognized by the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) for its innovative approach to serving post-traditional and off-campus students.

Doug McKenna is university registrar at �鶹��Ƶ. Many things change over the years at a college or university, but the university registrar serves as the guardian of something permanent. “I’m responsible for maintaining the student record in perpetuity,” said McKenna.

Arion Lillard-Green, already a �鶹��Ƶ alum, returned to complete her PhD in health services research.

Will Gautney started working at �鶹��Ƶ’s Center for the Arts as a part-time stagehand in 2013. The job involved lots of lifting, building, and prep work for shows. In 2018, he was hired full-time as assistant master electrician, his current role. He is also chair of �鶹��Ƶ's Staff Senate.

As the weather cools off, fall is the perfect time to explore the outdoors. �鶹��Ƶ offers students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to get outside and form connections with others in the �鶹��Ƶ community through the Outdoor Adventures program, part of �鶹��Ƶ Recreation.

�鶹��Ƶ’s Fall Career Fair, hosted by University Career Services on the Fairfax Campus, connected students and alumni with prospective employers on Sept. 27–28.

As employer engagement consultant with University Career Services at �鶹��Ƶ, Jneva Norfleet connects organizations with qualified talent from �鶹��Ƶ, helping �鶹��Ƶ students and graduates achieve their career goals. Outside work, Norfleet hones other talents of her own—she is a Toastmasters champion and a spoken word artist who shares her poetry to inspire others.

Olga O’Brien started her journey at �鶹��Ƶ as an international student from Prague on a volleyball scholarship. As a student, she started working as a part-time volleyball instructor at the Freedom Center in 1999—the year the center first opened. And she has been there ever since.

�鶹��Ƶ’s Faculty/Staff Book Scholarship supports continuing education for �鶹��Ƶ employees. This competitive $250 book scholarship is available to eligible full-time and part-time faculty and classified staff. Learn about the 2023–24 awardees.
