Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Fall Career Fair, hosted by University Career Services on the Fairfax Campus, connected students and alumni with prospective employers on Sept. 27–28.

As employer engagement consultant with University Career Services at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, Jneva Norfleet connects organizations with qualified talent from Â鶹ÊÓƵ, helping Â鶹ÊÓƵ students and graduates achieve their career goals. Outside work, Norfleet hones other talents of her own—she is a Toastmasters champion and a spoken word artist who shares her poetry to inspire others.

Olga O’Brien started her journey at Â鶹ÊÓƵ as an international student from Prague on a volleyball scholarship. As a student, she started working as a part-time volleyball instructor at the Freedom Center in 1999—the year the center first opened. And she has been there ever since.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Faculty/Staff Book Scholarship supports continuing education for Â鶹ÊÓƵ employees. This competitive $250 book scholarship is available to eligible full-time and part-time faculty and classified staff. Learn about the 2023–24 awardees.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ staff member Kathy Zimmerman was recently recognized by Liaison, the company that supports TargetX and Salesforce, for her significant contributions to the higher education community.

Summer goes by fast—whether you’re a kid, or a kid at heart. The K-12 students who attended camps and youth programs at Â鶹ÊÓƵ this year filled those fleeting summer days with memories. Here are some snapshots from their summer to remember. 

As a result of a grant awarded by the Virginia Tourism Corporation, the Fairfax City Economic Development Authority commissioned Murals at Â鶹ÊÓƵ to install a mural highlighting landmarks and experiences in Fairfax, Virginia. 'Greetings from Fairfax,' by Â鶹ÊÓƵ alum Lecsi Pillar, is located at Point 50 shopping center.
