Last fall NASA selected �鶹��Ƶ’s Anamaria Berea to participate in its independent study team on unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP).

The invite-only roundtable, hosted by the College of Engineering and Computing at �鶹��Ƶ Square, explored the issues, challenges, and solutions to think about as AI technologies rapidly evolve and change.  The roundtable was led by Missy Cummings, director of �鶹��Ƶ’s Autonomy and Robotics Center.

A �鶹��Ƶ professor is the sole academic working with the U.S. government in an unprecedented effort to measure environmental-economic activity.

Substance use disorder affects more than 40 million Americans according to the 2020 National Survey on Drug Use and Health. Recovery can be a difficult path, but an interdisciplinary team led by Holly Matto, associate professor in the Department of Social Work, aims to make it a little easier through a recently patented technology-based therapy. 

In April, 39 �鶹��Ƶ students attended the National Conference on Undergraduate Research at University of Wisconsin­–Eau Claire, where they made new friends, networked, and gained experiences that will help them in their studies and careers.

Whether it is pressing deadlines, overwork, or employees feeling they are not being supported, anger in a work environment can be unavoidable. Over time, the anger and frustration can compound, causing anger to spread through the entire team or organization, creating what �鶹��Ƶ expert Mandy O’Neill calls a “culture of anger.”

At a time when policing in the United States is facing major challenges, �鶹��Ƶ’s Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy is beginning a first-of-its-kind multi-method longitudinal study of a cohort of police officers to understand how officers progress through their law enforcement careers.
