This spring a small team of Â鶹ÊÓƵ students used the Patriot Green Fund to enhance the diversity of the university’s Honey Bee Pollinator Garden. This garden, which sits outside of Roberts House on the Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Fairfax Campus, serves as a biodiverse pollinator haven for the bees currently residing nearby in one of the Honey Bee Initiative’s apiaries.

The first Â鶹ÊÓƵ Day took place four years before the university’s first Commencement, and it’s been the event to look forward to ever since.

Sponsored by the Institute for a Sustainable Earth (ISE) and the Business for a Better World Center, the 17 Rooms-U produced dozens of ideas, some of which were combined during follow-up conversations. Groups championing those ideas are now receiving up to $5,000 in seed money to implement their sustainability plans.

Researchers from the Schar School of Policy and Government’s Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence! and the College of Health and Human Services are translating research into actionable guidelines to help probation officers support their clients to achieve better outcomes.

A new exhibition of original art commissioned to illustrate a book-length report by Schar School Professor J.P. Singh will be unveiled April 29, followed by a keynote from the ambassador from Tanzania and a panel discussion.

Philosopher and activist Cornel West was the debut guest of the Schar School’s new Race, Politics, and Policy Center.
