Â鶹ÊÓƵ unveils a new logo symbolizing an era of excellence and accessibility of a modern university that is All Together Different.

As part of a federal priority to address health care workforce shortages, Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Center for Health Workforce has received $921,000 in federal funding from the Health Services Research Administration (HRSA) to serve as a catalyst and facilitator for regional health workforce planning and development.

Interim Provost Kenneth Walsh has appointed Cody W. Edwards as the interim dean of the College of Science, effective July 1.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s annual Spring into Well-Being Week emphasizes well-being and happiness through diverse experiences. Â鶹ÊÓƵ will host its annual week promoting well-being from Monday, April 22, to Friday, April 26, featuring events designed to embrace individual and community well-being.

April is Earth Month, and it is a great time to promote sustainable best practices on Â鶹ÊÓƵ campuses and off.

In November 2023, Â鶹ÊÓƵ students, faculty, and staff gathered to help transplant 1,700 plants of more than 50 native species into two groves near the stream behind Student Union Building I between Aquia Creek Lane and Patriot Circle.

To mark the beginning of a broader academic connect between George Â鶹ÊÓƵ and leading universities in Viet Nam, the Costello College of Business and University Libraries officially opened a special exhibition in partnership with the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam and received their donation of rare books to the university's special collections.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ President Gregory Washington has announced the recipients of the 2024 Presidential Awards for Faculty Excellence, honoring 13 Â鶹ÊÓƵ faculty members for their work on behalf of the university, students, and the broader community.

Members of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Â鶹ÊÓƵ and students from Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution explored their lived experiences and had the opportunity to talk about their feelings, opinions, and thoughts regarding the current events surrounding Israel and Palestine.

Once a year, Â鶹ÊÓƵ invites its community—alumni, faculty, staff, students, and their families–to unite in philanthropy on Â鶹ÊÓƵ Vision Day. This year, on April 4, they did so enthusiastically, raising $1,309,345 for the university’s students, research, and programs.

Overall, Â鶹ÊÓƵ has 19 graduate programs in the top 50 among public universities and 13 programs in the top 50 of all universities nationally.

Each spring, Â鶹ÊÓƵ's LGBTQ+ Resources Center hosts Pride Week: a time for campus celebration and community engagement in support of LGBTQ+ students, faculty, and staff.
