�鶹��Ƶ’s Board of Visitors (BOV) on Thursday, Feb. 27, introduced three new board members, discussed the university’s response to the recent executive orders, approved an antisemitism resolution, and provided an update on several key initiatives and future planning efforts.

The U.S. Department of State has named �鶹��Ƶ a “Top Producing Institution” of Fulbright U.S. Scholars in 2024-25. The university has more Fulbrights this academic year—eight—than in any year in its history.

With a final pre-tassel-turning lesson about leadership, kindness, and resilience, more than 5,200 �鶹��Ƶ students graduated or earned certificates Thursday at Winter Commencement in EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax Campus.

Winter Commencement Speaker George D. Schindler, former president and chief executive officer of business and information technology company CGI, will address �鶹��Ƶ graduates on Dec. 19 at EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax Campus.

George �鶹��Ƶ's Board of Visitors discussed the potential for a dedicated university center devoted to expanding academic programs and supports for former or current servicemembers and their families.

James Antony became provost and executive vice president at �鶹��Ƶ on July 1. He comes to George �鶹��Ƶ from the University of California San Diego where he served as Dean of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Affairs. Prior to that he was a faculty member and administrator at the University of Washington, Yale University, and Harvard University.
