Janae Haaland, associate director of technology services in the division of University Life, is August Employee of the Month.

The First-Gen+ Center’s mission is to support students who are historically underrepresented in higher education and their allies, while specifically focusing on students who identify as first-generation, who identify as undocumented, have refugee status, or belong to families with limited income.

A six-person panel of Â鶹ÊÓƵ experts on mental health and well-being discussed student success strategies as part of a week-long series of events marking President Gregory Washington’s Investiture.

The global pandemic has brought mental health and well-being to the forefront, and Â鶹ÊÓƵ provides a variety of services and strategies to the community for addressing those challenges.

As a graduate student with intersectional racial and ethnic identities, Â鶹ÊÓƵ doctoral student Austin A. Deray said he believes it is his responsibility to champion the voices of his communities.
