Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s 2024 graduating class—the first whose members can say they earned a degree from a consensus top 50 public university in the country—was honored Thursday morning in front of an energized crowd at EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax Campus.

Barbara Humpton, president and CEO of Siemens, was the featured speaker at Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s 2024 Spring Commencement on Thursday, May 9, in EagleBank Arena on the Fairfax Campus.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ will celebrate Spring Commencement on Thursday. A record-setting number of students are earning degrees, and nearly 11,000 students total will be recognized for earning degrees or certificates. Graduates represent  114 countries, 50 states, and the District of Columbia, U.S. Virgin Islands, and military installations.

In addition to Spring 2024 Commencement on Thursday, May 9, graduates have the opportunity to attend their own school or college degree celebrations. Here’s a look at the keynote speakers for those events.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Spring 2024 Commencement speaker is Barbara Humpton, president and CEO of Siemens, who guides the technology company’s strategy and engagement in the United States.

The Virginia Board of Education has approved funding for George Â鶹ÊÓƵ to launch the Accelerated College and Employability Skills (ACCESS) Academy, a collaborative partnership with Northern Virginia Community College and Loudoun County Public Schools. This lab school will be based inside K-12 public schools as part of shared goals to increase pathways for students from high school to college and on to high-demand careers.
