Marvin Lewis, Â鶹ÊÓƵ's assistant vice president and director of Intercollegiate Athletics, has been appointed by the Atlantic 10 to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee, marking a historic moment for George Â鶹ÊÓƵ Athletics. Lewis is the program's inaugural representative on the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Committee. He succeeds Saint Joseph's vice president and director of Athletics, Jill Bodensteiner, who is stepping down after three years of service on the committee.

Each year, Â鶹ÊÓƵ Nation unites for 24 hours to support the mission and vision of Â鶹ÊÓƵ. Â鶹ÊÓƵ Vision Day 2025 encouraged donors to support what means the most to them. They came forward in record numbers—with record-breaking results.

The state budget, signed by Gov. Glenn Youngkin on May 2, represents the Commonwealth of Virginia’s continued investment in Â鶹ÊÓƵ as the state’s leading university for access, innovation and upward mobility. The funding goes into effect July 1, 2025.

Before an audience of ministers, ambassadors, educators, and global innovation leaders, Ingrid Guerra-López, dean of Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), delivered a keynote address that called for a bold, system-wide transformation of K–12 education to secure Africa’s workforce future—and the world’s.

The Governor’s School at Innovation Park, located at Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Science and Technology Campus, holds a special distinction: It’s Virginia’s only academic-year Governor’s School located on a four-year college campus. That means that high school juniors and seniors spend part of each school day experiencing life as Â鶹ÊÓƵ students. The Governor’s School at Innovation Park celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.

A senior delegation from Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Office of Advancement and Alumni Relations and Costello College of Business, along with Fairfax City Economic Development, recently visited Â鶹ÊÓƵ Korea for a weeklong strategic engagement to promote entrepreneurship education and business development.
