During the fall 2024 semester, �鶹��Ƶ students had the opportunity to apply their classroom curriculum to a real-world museum environment. The students, led by art history professor Robert DeCaroli, worked directly with objects in the holdings of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Asian Art as part of the ARTH 495/595 Curating an Exhibit course.

João Felipe Sousa Pereira’s research on solar flares could one day help us safeguard astronauts and technology in space and even prevent widespread blackouts here on Earth. Pereira, a second-year Physics PhD student at George �鶹��Ƶ, is studying solar physics with the goal of uncovering the precise triggers of solar flares. 

Students from �鶹��Ƶ’s Competitive Cybersecurity (MCC) club have dominated in multiple national competitions. The team got 1st place in the 2024 VMI CyberFusion and 2nd place in the 2024 Spring National Cyber League. Next, the students will be competing in the inaugural DistrictCon Hacker Conference on February 21-22.

Cindy Smith, a professor in �鶹��Ƶ's Department of Environmental Science and Policy, took her EVPP 302 Biomes and Human Dimensions students to a composting facility last fall to give them a front-row seat for food and yard waste recycling.

A team of student fellows at �鶹��Ƶ Korea's Center for Security and Policy Studies received a grant from �鶹��Ƶ to support their research on improving water quality in Incheon's Seunggi-cheon stream.

At 15 years old, Goonatilake is poised to become the youngest graduate in �鶹��Ƶ history with a 4.0 grade point average (GPA). This computer science prodigy from Leesburg, Virginia, is doing things at his own speed and far outpacing societal norms.

When Daksha Magesh came to �鶹��Ƶ as a freshman in 2021, she already had an impressive resumé. The Honors College student was working for federal prosecutor Manka Dhingra of the 45th District from her hometown of Seattle, Washington. Magesh says that’s where her interest in law comes from.
