Through her internships for PolitiFact, Voice of America and USA Today, Sudiksha Kochi learned about the life of a reporter and the ins and outs of investigative journalism.

Computer game design student Ying Wang wanted to help kids protect themselves from COVID-19, so she designed an app to do just that.

The Atlantic 10 Conference announced in June that 332 of �鶹��Ƶ’s student-athletes earned the Commissioner’s Honor Roll distinction for the 2020-21 academic year. �鶹��Ƶ recorded the second highest number of honorees behind University of Massachusetts, which had one additional student honored.

�鶹��Ƶ’s School of Business has been engaging students globally since the mid-1990s. Since then, students have participated in more than 100 global residencies around the globe.

Comfort Ohajunwa, a rising senior at The Governor’s School @ Innovation Park on �鶹��Ƶ’s Science and Technology Campus, first gained exposure to research through membership in �鶹��Ƶ’s Aspiring Scientists Summer Internship Program (ASSIP) in the summer of 2020.

The Socratic Society is a way for students with diverse beliefs and backgrounds to connect on a deeper level through informative and often lengthy discussions outside of class.

Of the 108 Northern Virginia graduating seniors who participated in the university's Early Identification Program, 48 have chosen to attend �鶹��Ƶ. Twenty-eight of those students have been awarded partial or full scholarships.

The final round of �鶹��Ƶ’s fifth annual Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition was held virtually on April 9. From this year’s 13 finalists, the judges chose three first-place winners and three second-place winners.

�鶹��Ƶ alumnus Roger Connor is an aeronautics curator at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum.

“Resistance,” a spoken word piece by �鶹��Ƶ alumnus Bobby Lacy II performed at �鶹��Ƶ’s 2020 Winter Commencement, had a profound impact on those who saw it during the video broadcast.

Activism runs in Laila Mokhiber’s blood. Well before she became the director of communications at the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA USA), Mokhiber was a child holding protest signs in human rights demonstrations. Before then, her mother held her as a baby in the gallery of the Supreme Court, as her father argued to incorporate Arab Americans into the Civil Rights Act in 1987. The �鶹��Ƶ alumna has also made a name for herself. In 2020, she was named one of the top 40 influential Arab Americans under 40 by the Arab America Foundation.
