Jessye Gassel has always been fascinated with spinning bodies. Gassel found herself looking forward to her high school physics class every day and knew, by junior year, that she would pursue it in college. A senior-year astronomy class honed that direction toward astrophysics.

Sharaya Jones, assistant professor of marketing at the Costello College of Business at �鶹��Ƶ, recently published research targeting this understudied area of consumer psychology.

At the end of January, three �鶹��Ƶ students presented their research at the Network for Undergraduate Research in Virginia (NURVa) Undergraduate Research Showcase at the Capitol in Richmond. Now in its second year, the event gives undergraduates from each of NURVa’s 13 member universities an opportunity to present their research to state legislators and fellow researchers alike. Balancing and combining different kinds of intelligence may be even more important than how much you know, or how you think. In a recently published piece, Matthew A. Cronin, professor of management at Costello College of Business at �鶹��Ƶ, deconstruct intelligence into three modalities, which they label the Scientist, the Artist and the Judge (or “SAJ,” pronounced “sage”).
