�鶹��Ƶ infectious disease researcher Aarthi Narayanan has partnered with the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) and Cyclica, a biotechnology company based in Canada, to identify potential broad-spectrum therapeutics for illnesses triggered by HFVs and similar pathogens.

This year’s Winter Commencement student speaker is Yasmin Alamin, who is graduating this December with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering.

More than 5,000 students will graduate with degrees or certificates in �鶹��Ƶ’s Winter Commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. today at EagleBank Arena.

For her Master of Health Administration capstone, �鶹��Ƶ graduate student Akshaya Chinnathevar Ramesh is interning at The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Capitol Hill and working with a team of analysts working on required reports to Congress on the effects of the No Surprise Act.

�鶹��Ƶ researchers Jeffrey Moran in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Rémi Veneziano in the Department of Bioengineering, and Monique van Hoek, a microbiologist in the School of Systems Biology, won the NBIB R21 Trailblazer award. The team will research methods to dissolve harmful biofilms.

Gurdip Singh is the divisional dean of �鶹��Ƶ’s new School of Computing and a professor in the College of Engineering and Computing. He officially joined �鶹��Ƶ on August 1, he is currently on assignment to the National Science Foundation. He will join �鶹��Ƶ full-time in January 2023.

During his time at �鶹��Ƶ, Isaiah Epps burnished his résumé with internships at the Federal Aviation Administration and the Jacobs Engineering Group.
