Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam last month appointed a new member to the �鶹��Ƶ Board of Visitors and reappointed three others. All will serve four-year terms on the 16-member body.

Fairfax, VA – �鶹��Ƶ’s Board of Visitors approved a $1.249 billion budget Thursday, May 6 that will keep undergraduate tuition flat, increase student aid by at least 10 percent, and make targeted investments in student services and staff and faculty support.

�鶹��Ƶ’s Board of Visitors has authorized the university to begin official negotiations with the newly formed �鶹��Ƶ Innovation Partners as the potential development partner for the transformation of its Arlington Campus in the heart of the Rossyln-Ballston corridor.

�鶹��Ƶ is looking at ways to provide education to experienced workers who were displaced as a result of the economic downturn associated with the coronavirus pandemic, President Gregory Washington told the Board of Visitors Thursday.

At his first planning conference with the Board of Visitors, �鶹��Ƶ President Gregory Washington outlined his ambitious framework for the university, including a mission to “reposition, restore and reinvent” �鶹��Ƶ to achieve success in the post-COVID era.

Newly selected �鶹��Ƶ President Gregory Washington told a group of journalists Thursday that he’s “ecstatic” to be the school’s eighth president. He will join the university on July 1, 2020.
