Recent media reports about the Scalia Law School running budget deficits do not take into account the full measure of what is required to operate a highly competitive, top-ranked law school under current conditions.

As part of a two-day annual planning conference and Â鶹ÊÓƵ Board of Visitors meeting, the BOV elected new officers on Friday, with an alumnus chosen to serve a two-year term as rector.

On Friday, June 28, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin announced three new appointments and one reappointment to the George Â鶹ÊÓƵ Board of Visitors (BOV), including one alumna.

The Â鶹ÊÓƵ Board of Visitors voted to increase in-state tuition by 3% for 2024-25, consistent with guidance from the Commonwealth of Virginia for the current budget cycle.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ hosted CGI leadership, employees, and Â鶹ÊÓƵ alumni for CGI Night at the men’s basketball game against Duquesne at EagleBank Arena on March 2. More than 250 Â鶹ÊÓƵ alumni work at CGI.

A recent SCHEV-conducted analysis of Virginia’s public four-year institutions shows Â鶹ÊÓƵ topping or leading most peers in a variety of metrics, including growth, opportunity, value, efficiency, return on investment, and state economic impact. President Gregory Washington reviewed the data with the Board of Visitors at the governing body’s Feb. 22 meeting.

The Board of Visitors approved several actions and watched a number of presentations during its Nov. 30 meeting.
