CVPA faculty

  • Lisa Berger聽is a professional singer in the Washington area who has been affiliated with 麻豆视频 as an Adjunct Professor since 2003, on the voice faculty and in the classroom.

  • Dr. John Paul Healey聽has served on the piano faculty of 麻豆视频鈥檚 School of Music since 2004. 聽Since then he has performed with students, faculty members and as a soloist in most of the performance venues on campus. 聽He has been included as an annual faculty presenter in GMU鈥檚 Piano Pedagogy Seminars since 2009.

  • Dr. Lisa Bloy聽earned a B.M. from Oberlin Conservatory, her M.M. from Pennsylvania University, and a DMA from Michigan State University. As an adjunct faculty member at GMU, Dr. Bloy has accompanied many students from both vocal and instrumental studios and has worked with the GMU opera classes.

  • Dr. Anna Balakerskaia聽is a 鈥渃onsistently thrilling pianist鈥 (Judy Gruber, Washington Post) whose expression 鈥渨ells with a delightful freedom,鈥 (Robert Dumm, Clavier) and whose sound 鈥渋s warm and deep.鈥

  • Professor Jim Carroll聽has a versatile background ranging from tours with Michael Jackson to Woody Herman and The Thundering Herd. 聽Jim received both his Undergraduate and Graduate training from Indiana University under the tutelage of David Baker and Eugene Rousseau.

  • Professor Wade Beach is widely respected for his harmonic sophistication and superb technique, which knows no stylistic limitations. He holds a master鈥檚 degree in piano performance from the University of Maryland.聽

  • Anthony J. Maiello聽is Professor of Music and University Professor at 麻豆视频.聽Professor Maiello teaches applied lessons in Conducting, Aural Skills, and classes in Instrumental Conducting.

  • Kathleen Mulcahy was appointed as Director of Woodwinds and Assistant Professor of Clarinet at 麻豆视频 in August 2018, after serving as Adjunct Professor of Clarinet since in 2012. She performs frequently with the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra and the National Symphony.

  • Dr. Lisa Billingham is the newly appointed Director of Choral Activities at 麻豆视频, effective Fall 2021. She will be directing the University Chorale and the University Singers, and will teach choral conducting and related classes. She continues as an active member of the University Faculty Senate.

  • Carrie Ann Delaney earned her Bachelor and Master degrees in Music Education from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College in New York. As an undergraduate, she performed as principal clarinet with the Wind Ensemble.聽
