CVPA faculty

  • Mr. Emanuil Yorgov is Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s full-time piano technician, where his responsibilities will include piano tuning, voicing, and regulation for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s All-Steinway School, as well as tunings in Harris Theater. 

  • Federica Incerti is an Assistant Professor and the Director of Technology for the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ School of Art, the Director of Cybersecurity for the College of Visual & Performing Arts. She received her doctorate in Instructional Technology from Ohio University.

  • Megan L. Lavengood, Ph.D. is Associate Professor and Director of Music Theory at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. Her research primarily deals with popular music, video game music, timbre, synthesizers, and recording techniques.

  • Dr. Charles R. Ciorba, Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Music Education, teaches courses in music education.  Prior to joining the faculty at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, Dr. Ciorba was Associate Professor and Coordinator of Graduate Music Education at the University of Oklahoma, where he (a) gained extensive experience supervising graduate research and (b) taught courses in the areas of research, psychology, philosophy, sociology, assessment, and quantitative analysis.

  • Robert Yi was born in Seoul, South Korea, and immigrated to the United States at the age of four. He received his MFA from American University, graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Foreign Affairs and the Corcoran College of Art & Design with a BFA.

  • Samantha Sinagra is Assistant Director of Film and Video Studies

  • Eric Thornton is a Midwest transplant to the D.C. metro area. Trained as an artist and potter, he has participated in several international artist-in-residence programs at the International Ceramic Center in Kecskemet, Hungary as well as the Zentrum fur Keramik Berlin, Germany.

  • Richard Kamenitzer's accomplishments include being the former Program Director & Associate Professor of the Arts Management Program (having been granted EMERITUS status by Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Board of Visitors in 2013, upon his retirement);

  • Emily Rusch has a background in historic house museum administration, development, and events. She has worked at Tudor Place in Georgetown and The Lee Fendall House in Alexandria.

  • Pam Muirheid works as the Web Specialist and Project Lead for the CVPA and academic units of the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
