After more than 32 years of service in the Chamber of Commerce, Â鶹ÊÓƵ alum Debbie Jones is retiring this December.

University of Maryland Global Campus President Gregory W. Fowler, a Â鶹ÊÓƵ alumnus and national leader in online and hybrid education for nontraditional students, will be the featured speaker at Winter Commencement next month.

The passage of Title IX in 1972 also marked the beginning of athletic opportunities for women at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. Â鶹ÊÓƵ's first women's sport—tennis—started its inaugural season in 1972-73.
