Gina S. Brown, PhD, MSA, RN, FAAN (PhD Nursing ’99), has made history as the first woman to become president of Oakwood University. Recognized nationally as a leader in nursing and education, Brown brings extensive experience revitalizing academic institutions and fostering community engagement. She credits her time at Â鶹ÊÓƵ as a formative and supportive chapter in her journey.

George Â鶹ÊÓƵ junior outfielder James Quinn-Irons was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays in the fifth round of the 2025 MLB Draft on Monday.
Quinn-Irons, a native of Reston, Va., was selected with the 147th overall pick.

The Carter School and the California-based Shinnyo-en Foundation seek to bring different groups together, honoring every voice, navigating darkness, and illuminating paths toward peace.

In spring 2025, students in EVPP 480 Sustainability in Action gave a crucial boost to Chesapeake Bay oysters by constructing oyster reef balls where the bivalves can attach, grow, and develop into natural reef structures.
