Four �鶹��Ƶ students from the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution traveled to Oxford University’s Magdalen College in the United Kingdom with Carter School dean Alpaslan Özerdem for the 2025 Oxford Consortium for Human Rights (OCHR). 

Receiving the Janis S. Reed Scholarship sharpened the focus even more for the goal-oriented Anh Tran. Wrapping up her final semester as an undergraduate student in accounting and completing the bachelor’s to accelerated master’s (BAM) program, she already had her eyes on the larger picture.

Wrongful convictions can upend lives, particularly those of high schoolers, and can result in students becoming part of the school-to-prison pipeline. Talley Bettens, a doctoral candidate in �鶹��Ƶ’s Department of Criminology, Law and Society, seeks to trace this issue to its roots: adolescent behavior and environment.
