Assistant Professor Vijay Shah from the Department of Cyber Security Engineering at �鶹��Ƶ's College of Engineering and Computing, teamed up with colleagues in Arlington, Virginia, to build drones that monitor and improve the safety of firefighters in action.

In 2006, �鶹��Ƶ alum Anousheh Ansari, BS Computer and Electrical Engineering ’88, traveled to the International Space Station for an 11-day expedition and the first female private space explorer, first astronaut of Iranian descent, first Muslim woman in space, and fourth private explorer to visit space.

This fall, �鶹��Ƶ will become the new home of one of the Internet's venerable monitoring and measurement services: the Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) Deployment Maps.

This summer, as a Summer Impact project, a group of �鶹��Ƶ students designed and developed a pilot web-based archival application to organize documents relating to the victims of China’s Anti-“Rightist” Campaign in the 1950s.

Incoming University Scholar Dayana Cespedes-Mendoza has been familiar with �鶹��Ƶ for more than five years through her participation in �鶹��Ƶ’s Early Identification Program (EIP) for first-generation college-bound students, which she joined as an eighth grader.
