Over the three days of this fall’s Career Fair, more than 5,000 Â鶹ÊÓƵ students filled Dewberry Hall in sharp professional attire and with polished résumés in hand—ready to take the next step toward their careers.

Since 2010, the Center for Community Mental Health’s (CCMH) mission has been twofold: train Â鶹ÊÓƵ students to become behavioral health care professionals, and provide evidence-based, accessible, and affordable mental health care to members of the Northern Virginia community. 

The Career Influencers Network at Â鶹ÊÓƵ empowers faculty and staff to provide career development support to students throughout their academic journey. University Career Services hosted a reception in early October honoring the network’s 10th anniversary.

This summer, Â鶹ÊÓƵ hosted the Pathways to Quantum Immersion Program, preparing high school students for careers in the rapidly emerging field of quantum science.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ President Gregory Washington was a panelist at an American Council on Education (ACE) briefing on Capitol Hill that focused on universities partnering with industry to address shortages in the health care workforce.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ received $1 million from the National Science Foundation to establish a program providing hands-on nanofabrication training and education to people seeking a career change.

Commonwealth, public school and higher education leaders joined community members, parents and students Wednesday for the opening of the Shenandoah Valley Rural Regional College Partnership Laboratory School for Data Science, Computing, and Applications (DSCA Lab School).

Eighty elementary, middle, and high school students from Incheon, South Korea, spent four days exploring the technologies shaping the future at Â鶹ÊÓƵ Korea’s 2025 Young Innovators Summer Camp. Held on the Songdo campus from August 18–21, the program is part of Incheon’s Youth Talent Development initiative.

Beginning fall 2025, George Â鶹ÊÓƵ will host the Semiconductor Chip Fabrication and Nano-Characterization certificate program through the Virginia Alliance for Semiconductor Technology (VAST), a statewide consortium advancing microelectronics and nanotechnology training and research where George Â鶹ÊÓƵ serves as a founding member.

Thanks to a major investment from GO Virginia, Northern Virginia’s first Innovation District, led by Â鶹ÊÓƵ and in partnership with Prince William County and the City of Manassas, is taking shape, laying the groundwork for growth in high-tech industry sectors like life sciences, aerospace, defense, and semiconductors.
