This summer �鶹��Ƶ seniors Mirella Guzman-Escobar and Jacques Lykes are interning in the office of the House Creative Services, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at the U.S. House of Representatives.

�鶹��Ƶ artist in residence Abdulrahman “Abi” Naanseh studied interior design at Damascus University in Syria, but his true passion is art, specifically Arabic calligraphy.

�鶹��Ƶ Exhibitions is honored to present Abdulrahman Naanseh: Pressure, Movement, Effect, a solo exhibition of the artist’s recent Arabic calligraphy on paper and canvas, on view June 17 through August 6, 2022. The opening reception for Pressure, Movement, Effect will kick off with the Arlington Collective Art Walk the evening of June 17, featuring self-guided art experiences open to the public that connects seven local galleries.

The 15 students in the special topics class Facial Reconstruction started the semester with a generic plastic skull. Week by week, they sculpted different parts of their own faces, creating a portrait of themselves in clay and learning the forensic skills needed to put a face on a skull.

School of Art professor Christopher Kardambikis was determined to focus his operations and curriculum on printmaking processes that are nontoxic, energy efficient, and supportive of the repurposing of paper scraps into new usable sheets.

In "Undeleted," McDermott curates content found on seven discarded cell phones. The exhibit displays two kinds of found data, intact and deleted—or what people had hoped they had deleted.

�鶹��Ƶ's College of Visual and Performing Arts alumnus Joseph Le talks about his journey from making his own independent films to working on a Marvel Studios blockbuster.

Lily Patterson knew she wanted to make things when she began her studies at �鶹��Ƶ.

“I just wanted to turn physical things into something that’s really cool and awesome,” she said.

Conjuring Presence is an exhibition of visual art and poetry featuring �鶹��Ƶ students, faculty, and alumni at the Fenwick Gallery in Fenwick Library on the Fairfax Campus.
