There were many outstanding performers at Â鶹ÊÓƵ this past academic year, from musicians to actors to athletes. Less celebrated but no less impressive was the virtuoso performance of a determined IT major at a job fair, a star turn that commanded the attention of University Career Services representatives.

At a Computing Career Reception, juniors and seniors in CS and IST networked with tech industry representatives from companies such as Appian, Brillient, and Verisign.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ announced the largest gift to a center within the School of Business from Attain Partners founder and CEO Greg Baroni and his wife, Camille.

Professor of Nursing Rebecca Sutter, along with faculty and students across colleges, will lead the creation of an interprofessional Learning Laboratory for Community Health.   

The grant is part of the first-of-its-kind Public Health AmeriCorps, which will meet public health needs of local communities and help rebuild the nation’s public health sector

In an initiative funded by the Northern Virginia Node of the Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI), Â鶹ÊÓƵ partnered with the Children's Science Center and local cybersecurity firms to help expand the pipeline of cybersecurity professionals.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ will receive $235 million from the state as part of the Tech Talent Investment Program (TTIP) announced Thursday by Gov. Ralph Northam. The funding will support Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s role as a producer of graduates in high-demand fields and spur the expansion of the Arlington Campus.
