Cathy Pinskey, capital program director at �鶹��Ƶ, has watched �鶹��Ƶ’s square footage grow a lot over the years—by the millions. As capital program director with �鶹��Ƶ Facilities, Pinskey has overseen the university’s largest and most complicated capital projects to date, including the Core Campus Project from 2016 to 2022, which revitalized the heart of the Fairfax Campus. Today, her main focus is Fuse at �鶹��Ƶ Square, a new building currently under construction.

University Sustainability and the Greenhouse and Garden’s Program are contributing to �鶹��Ƶ's efforts to eradicate food insecurity by providing access to campus-grown fruits and vegetables.

�鶹��Ƶ’s iconic cherry tree grove by �鶹��Ƶ Pond turns 30 this year. The first trees were donated in 1993 by the members of the student organization Club Nippon in celebration of �鶹��Ƶ’s annual International Week.

�鶹��Ƶ graduate student’s cherry blossom monitoring research uses �鶹��Ƶ as a living lab to assess how climate change affects the bloom date of cherry blossom trees on the Fairfax Campus.

Work has begun on the “Necklace Phase One and Stream Restoration” project on �鶹��Ƶ’s Fairfax Campus, �鶹��Ƶ Facilities announced.

The first steps of the construction project that will reshape and reimagine George �鶹��Ƶ’s Arlington Campus are scheduled to begin this week, weather permitting.
