One May 24, 27 Â鶹ÊÓƵ EIP graduates joined the ranks of Â鶹ÊÓƵ alumni this year, along with 130 graduating high school seniors celebrating their EIP graduation, as part of EIP’s 32nd graduating class. More than 2,100 students have graduated from EIP since it began in 1987.

Honors College student Noel Quezada came to Â鶹ÊÓƵ through the Early Identification Program and credits EIP with much of his success.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ is seeing a steady increase in research awards, fall enrollment numbers and in its number of graduates, based on reports to the Board of Visitors at their May 4 meeting.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s new Youth Research Council (YRC) is a research partnership between the Center for Social Science Research (CSSR) in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Early Identification Program (EIP), which invites ninth through twelfth graders into the field of social science research.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Early Identification Program (EIP), a college-prep program for first-generation students, received $10,000 from the Women’s Club of Great Falls Scholarship Fund to establish a scholarship in the club’s name.

A double major and member of the Honors College, Juan Escalera came to Â鶹ÊÓƵ as an alumnus of the university’s Early Identification Program.

For 35 years, Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Early Identification Program has been helping Northern Virginia middle and high school students prepare for their future college careers.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s first-generation students are no strangers to overcoming bias or barriers to attend college. Their remarkable tenacity keeps them striving for more.
