Andre Marshall joins Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ as its new vice president for research, innovation and economic development and president of the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Research Foundation on July 1.
Last fall, faculty teams were invited to submit proposals describing thematic hiring opportunities. The decision committee evaluated 14 proposals for innovation and timeliness, alignment with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ strengths, recruiting plans and hiring strategies.
A new computing system will support Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s expanding research infrastructure as part of its investment in cyberinfrastructure improvements, which includes upgrading facilities and hardware and software to support the educational and research missions of the university.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ took another step toward selecting a partner for the Arlington Campus expansion by releasing the final RFP to its shortlist of candidates on Wednesday, July 22.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will receive $235 million from the state as part of the Tech Talent Investment Program (TTIP) announced Thursday by Gov. Ralph Northam. The funding will support Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s role as a producer of graduates in high-demand fields and spur the expansion of the Arlington Campus.
