Mechanical engineering major Chigozie Erondu may have always been passionate about robotics, but in his time at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, he’s developed a new passion for helping the Â鶹ÊÓƵ community stay sustainable.

Bioengineers find solutions to some of the world’s grand problems. But sometimes, it takes collaboration with scientists to find out the questions that need to be answered to properly apply and maximize these engineering solutions.

Over the two past years, two Â鶹ÊÓƵ systems engineering senior design teams developed a tool to help two Maryland counties make complex financial decisions to reduce their CO2 emissions.

Professor Sanmay Das received two grants from the NSF to use computing to develop a new method of optimizing these resource allocation decisions.

On July 26, the first-ever Break Through Tech at Â鶹ÊÓƵ Guild program kicks off with a group of more than 60 women from Â鶹ÊÓƵ and Northern Virginia Community College who want to learn more about technology and computing.
