WUSA anchor Annie Yu is a proud Patriot with fond memories of her college days. As a student, she stacked her classes, immersed herself in campus culture, and found her community. She believes that George �鶹��Ƶ's diverse student body lessened her fears about entering the college environment.

Ever since sixth grade, Ricky Chang looked up at the stars and wondered what could be out there in the vastness of unexplored space. With a summer internship at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, he had a front row seat to interstellar research.

The Fall 2022 Communication Career Forum, on October 25 at �鶹��Ƶ’s Fairfax Campus, focused on helping students break into the industry and inspiring them to find purpose in their work.

�鶹��Ƶ alum Leonard "Len" Bennett’s generous gift of $1 million will create the “Warren D. Decker Professorship Endowment” to support �鶹��Ƶ's Debate Team.

From April 2-4, 14 students from �鶹��Ƶ’s Forensics Team competed at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the AFA-NST, which brings students together from across the nation to compete for national championships.

Kate Sweeney is the Journalism Program Coordinator in the Department of Communication. She holds an M.S. in Science Journalism from Boston University, and a B.A. in Anthropology from Colorado College. 

The topic of “cancel culture” is not new in the public discourse, but �鶹��Ƶ communication professor Sergei A. Samoilenko believes he can take the discussion in a new direction.

�鶹��Ƶ 100 students attended the Fall 2021 Communication Career Forum hosted by �鶹��Ƶ’s Department of Communication and its external advisory board, the Insight Committee. There they had the opportunity to interact in person with public affairs specialists, media producers, journalists, health communicators and marketers.
