Following the tragic shooting on March 16, 2021 in Georgia, Long Chen, associate professor of accounting and president of Association of Chinese American Professors and Scientists (ACAPS) worked together with the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community to prompt change at �鶹��Ƶ.

For senior finance major, Tyler Harb, he will be leaving �鶹��Ƶ with a supercharged resume full of unique experiences. Harb is a successful international student, president of the Investment Committee for the Montano Student Investment Fund, has held two finance internships and published an independent research project. He will graduate from �鶹��Ƶ School of Business this May.

�鶹��Ƶ School of Business online MBA Program jumped 25 spots in two years with a new ranking of #98 nationally for Best Online MBA (#70 among public universities) from U.S. News & World Report.

At �鶹��Ƶ, Student Ambassadors create a link from prospective students to new freshman, answering questions, calming nerves, and sharing lots of advice.

Since starting �鶹��Ƶ's MBA program this fall, Guillermo Palencia has been working with the Business for a Better World center on its Honey Bee Initiative (HBI), focusing on a pilot project in rural Colombia and developing a self-sustainable social enterprise model for future funding and expansion in South America and beyond.

Esteemed professor of finance, Gerald A. Hanweck, Sr., passed away peacefully on December 6. Faculty and staff at �鶹��Ƶ School of Business mourn the loss of their long-time colleague.

The Montano Student Investment Fund (SMIF) recently hosted the Alpha Challenge, the group’s first stock pitch competition on �鶹��Ƶ’s Fairfax Campus. More than $3,000 in cash prizes were awarded to student participants.

Innovative teaching is not something new to Karen Kitching, associate professor of accounting and Accounting Advisory Council faculty fellow. Recently, Kitching began teaching accounting educators as part of the American Accounting Association’s (AAA) new Webinar Series on Accounting Research and Education (weARE).

For Brad Greenwood, it’s all about the students. His demonstrated contributions to teaching (in addition to research and leadership/engagement) puts him among the “best of the best” says Dean Maury Peiperl, honoring Greenwood with a 2021 School of Business Dean’s Scholar Award.

Jinyuan (Stephanie) Song joined the School of Business in the summer of 2019 as an assistant professor of management. One of the school’s research-focused faculty members, Song’s research interests focus on strategic leadership, organizational change, and stakeholder management in competition.
