The scholarship luncheon, held each fall by the Donald G. Costello College of Business at Â鶹ÊÓƵ, brings together scholarship donors with the student recipients of those scholarships. On Tuesday, November 7, the latest group of donors and awardees gathered to build connections and share inspiration.

Shohdi was one of four Â鶹ÊÓƵ students chosen for an internship in the U.S. Navy’s Financial Management and Comptroller (FM&C) Office this summer.

This month, Paul Vosti will graduate from Â鶹ÊÓƵ with a master’s degree in finance, part of the program’s first cohort of 14 students.

A double major and member of the Honors College, Juan Escalera came to Â鶹ÊÓƵ as an alumnus of the university’s Early Identification Program.

For Â鶹ÊÓƵ Korea students, the transition from Songdo, Korea, to Fairfax, Virginia, can be challenging, but the opportunities are immense. Many students pursuing their degree at Â鶹ÊÓƵ Korea are looking to a future career in the United States. This makes their time in Fairfax critical. The School of Business accounting program is one of the most popular degrees offered at Â鶹ÊÓƵ Korea, and faculty in Fairfax work hard to offer students support for their future career success.

Communicating effectively and being able to think on her feet are two ways Jordan Dockery has grown as a Student Ambassador at Â鶹ÊÓƵ School of Business. Dockery, who is a senior studying marketing, says her favorite topic to discuss with prospective students is study abroad opportunities.

Through the Global Engagement Scholar Program, undergraduate students in Â鶹ÊÓƵ School of Business have an opportunity they shouldn’t pass up to examine their own biases, cultural values, and learn how to contribute to a dynamic and global workforce.

Gretchen Hendricks, instructor of business foundations, recently challenged 33 students in her BUS 303: Developing Your Professional Skills, Advanced Elements course to research and create a new business idea they call ThreeWishes, a company that makes kindness the norm.

As a transfer accounting student, Neil VanHaaften, joined the Student Ambassador program at Â鶹ÊÓƵ School of Business to get know his peers and professors, especially because he was attending virtually for his first semester.

A team of students from Â鶹ÊÓƵ School of Business’ master of science in real estate development (MRED) program recently won the NAIOP MD/DC Chapter’s 2022 Capital Challenge. This year’s win marks the program’s fifth victory in the Capitol Challenge in the last ten years.
