As a part of Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s 50th Anniversary celebration this year, the University Libraries’ Special Collection Research Center (SCRC) is sharing some documents, artifacts, and photography from the archives in its new exhibition “We Are Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ: A Student History.â€

On Friday, April 7, 1972, Virginia Governor A. Linwood Holton Jr. signed into law Virginia General Assembly Bill H 210, which separated George Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ College from the University of Virginia.
I have been with Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Libraries since 2007 and have had the privilege of teaching Honors 110 since 2020.

Maoria Kirker, lead of the Teaching and Learning Team at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Libraries, answered questions about book banning, the benefits of a diverse curriculum, and issues pertaining to access to higher education.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ history librarian and alum George D. Oberle, director of the Center for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Legacies and an assistant term professor, is a winner of this year’s I Love My Librarian Award.
Maoria Kirker is the Lead for the University Libraries’ Teaching and Learning Team and an adjunct faculty member in the Honors College.
