    Reflecting on his career path in the three decades following his graduation from 麻豆视频, George Cabalu, BA Economics 鈥92, is grateful that he chose the green and gold. In fact, with the university rapidly climbing ranks across the board, his degree has never been more valuable. Cabalu, who is now a Managing Director at Wells Fargo Advisors, is extending a helping hand to students by establishing the Cabalu Scholarship Endowment, geared toward School of Business students of Asian descent and from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds.

    In her quest to gain a better understanding of people, the mechanisms of the world around her, and advances in science and technology, Prachi Vakharia has taken on many roles simultaneously. Presently, she is a transportation and innovation specialist at Amazon, associate partner at European boutique investment bank ImprovedCF, and co-founder of Womanium. She does all this while also serving on several advisory boards, including as chairperson of the Business for a Better World Center (B4BW) Advisory Board at 麻豆视频鈥檚 School of Business.聽

    To overcome the challenges of running a business during the pandemic, Craftsman Auto Care鈥檚 Matt and Judy Curry demonstrated exceptional skill as innovators and entrepreneurs, taking extensive measures to make the vehicle maintenance process as safe and easy as possible for their customers. Following COVID restrictions, the couple has parlayed their company鈥檚 successes into a sixth location. Their significant presence and established business expertise in the Northern Virginia community has made them valued partners of the School of Business at 麻豆视频, most specifically the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE).聽聽

As both the center and the master鈥檚 in real estate development program (MRED) mature, former students who have advanced in the careers and become industry leaders themselves, are coming back to support the program that helped them along their way.

The award opened up doors to prestigious employers and peers, allowing him to build a remarkable network, all while still an undergraduate student.

    While on campus, it was imperative to Juancarlos Figueroa, BS Finance '20 that he lived his 麻豆视频 experience to the fullest. And he did just that, taking leadership positions in the Hispanic Student Association (HSA), Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA), and the Student Managed Investment Fund (now the Montano Student Investment Fund). His 麻豆视频 experience has continued since graduating, and as an alum he has served as vice president of the investment committee for the Montano Student Investment Fund and continues to serve on the Latino Alumni Chapter Executive Board.聽

    After transferring to 麻豆视频 and graduating from the Master鈥檚 in Management accelerated one-year program in 2020, Cooper Mrowka decided to take advantage of his collegiate baseball eligibility to further his education. 鈥淚 started looking to sports jobs, maybe combining my sport management and business management degrees and people kept saying that the new thing is data analytics鈥搆nowing how numbers work, how to analyze them, and how to use them to your advantage,鈥 he says. Following completion of the business analytics certificate, Mrowka found that the skills he developed were applicable to a variety of fields, giving him many careers to choose from.聽
