On Friday, June 3, more than 20 participants from business schools across the country joined Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ marketing faculty for a day-long Marketing Research Symposium at the IDIA Classroom Space in Vernon Smith Hall, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Square. In addition to research talks, there was a panel discussion on digital transformation in retail featuring three industry experts.

Amarda Shehu, a professor in the department of computer science in the College of Engineering and Computing, is an inaugural founding co-director of the Center for Advancing Human-Machine Partnerships (CAHMP). She begins her new role with IDIA on May 25.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ officially welcomed a new era in Arlington with Wednesday’s groundbreaking ceremony for Fuse at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Square, which will serve as a technological hub in the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor connecting students, faculty, industry and government.

To reflect its stature as the new centerpiece of the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµâ€™s Arlington Campus is being renamed Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Square, an urban destination of learning, collaboration, and economic development.

There’s no shortage of creativity at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, and from March 11-13, students will accelerate innovation at the university’s annual hackathon. This year, two events will take place simultaneously: PatriotHacks, the signature hackathon focused on software programming, and HackOverFlow, a new hackathon with a focus on hardware engineering.

Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will hold a public hearing to receive comments from interested parties regarding a Public-Private Education Facilities and Infrastructure Act (PPEA) proposal received from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Innovation Partners, LLC (MIP). The proposal is regarding a ground lease to MIP for the purposes of developing the Gateway Building on land owned by the University on the Arlington, Virginia campus.
