Program Description

George Â鶹ÊÓƵ's Department of Mathematical Sciences partners with Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) to offer exceptionally talented high school students the opportunity to earn advanced university-level mathematics credit. All courses are taught by George Â鶹ÊÓƵ affiliate faculty and are offered on-site in FCPS high schools.

The credit process must be completed during the semester the course is taken in high school. You may not retroactively receive credit after the deadline.

Admission Requirements

• Current FCPS junior or senior enrolled in the courses listed below at your high school
• Minimum 3.25 FCPS GPA
• Meet the application, course registration form, and payment submission deadlines
• Submit the online application and $70 application processing fee
• Complete the course credit payment

The following course is available only for Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology students:

• Math 214:ÌýElementary Differential EquationsÌý

If you are unsure of which course you are completing, consult your math teacher before applying.

Spring 2025 Application Process

Dual enrollment admission or registration WILL NOT be accepted or processed after Friday, April 11, 2025 (extended from April 1).

Step One:

• Sign up for using the student's first name, last name, and email address.
  • An email will be sent to the address used in step 3 with a temporary password linkÌý
  • Click on the link provided and you will be able to create a unique passwordÌý
  • Click on Start New ApplicationÌý
• Complete your application.

Step Two:

• • Click on the course you wish to take (the price will reflect when payment is submitted)
  • Hit "Add to Cart"
  • Fill out the form and hit "Continue"
  • Check information for accuracy and hit "Checkout"
  • Enter your email address to receive payment confirmation
  • Fill out payment information
  • Hit "Continue"
  • Review order and then hit "Submit Order"
  • Receipt will be produced

Taking Additional Courses at George Â鶹ÊÓƵ

After taking dual enrollment courses, if students wish to take a higher-level course on George Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s campus or online, this is considered a non-degree course and students must fill out the George Â鶹ÊÓƵ non-degree application and follow that process. The cost for this course will be the same as a typical George Â鶹ÊÓƵ course.

All college credit pre-requisites must be met to take these higher-level courses. Students must complete the entire application process during the semester in which they take their dual-enrollment course to receive college credit.
