Â鶹ÊÓƵ recognized faculty and staff for their years of service at the University Day Service Awards this week.
Faculty and staff celebrating 20–50 years of state service were honored at the Gold Day luncheon on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
Faculty and staff celebrating 5–15 years of state service were honored at the Green Day breakfast on Wednesday, Nov. 19. Both events took place on the Fairfax Campus in the Johnson Center’s Dewberry Hall.
The honorees were recognized at their respective ceremonies, and individuals honored at Gold Day took photos with President Gregory Washington.
The program shared some of the honorees’ favorite George Â鶹ÊÓƵ memories, along with flashbacks to highlights from 5, 10, 15, 20 years ago—and beyond.
A musical performance by Rick Davis, dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and Linda Monson, director of the Dewberry School of Music, is a treasured tradition of these events. Their rendition of "One Day More" from Les ²Ñ¾±²õé°ù²¹²ú±ô±ð²õ honored all things George Â鶹ÊÓƵ and the perseverance of those celebrating service milestones.
To the honorees: Thank you for your service to Â鶹ÊÓƵ and the Commonwealth of Virginia!
