Fourteen local high school students spent a week in August learning about renewable energy from electrical engineering professor Liling Huang and a host of local energy engineering professionals. At the end of the week, the students presented their work, a model town powered entirely by clean energy.  

Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution hosted its largest group of high schoolers to date, 46, for its ninth annual Conflict Resolution Youth Summit in July.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s popular FOCUS outreach program marks its 10th anniversary this summer and continues to expand its science and tech immersion programs.

Local high school students explore maritime robotics at NSF-supported summer camp.

A group of local rising high school juniors and seniors attended the BioE Buzz Summer Camp hosted by the Department of Bioengineering at Â鶹ÊÓƵ in June. Throughout the week, campers met students and faculty, received tours of research facilities, and participated in hands-on lab activities. 

Summer goes by fast—whether you’re a kid, or a kid at heart. The K-12 students who attended camps and youth programs at Â鶹ÊÓƵ this year filled those fleeting summer days with memories. Here are some snapshots from their summer to remember. 

For the first two weeks in August, students built and tested these maritime robotic vehicles at the Innovative Drive shop and lab facilities located near Â鶹ÊÓƵ’s SciTech campus. 

Â鶹ÊÓƵ's College of Engineering and Computing partnered with the College of Science to provide weekends filled with fun activities for students – rooted in STEM learning.
