The Virginia Cyber Navigator Internship Program (VA-CNIP) has equipped students with the skills to strengthen the cybersecurity posture of election infrastructures. As an intern last summer, information technology major Duong Thuy Nguyen helped secure a rural county’s technology for the upcoming presidential election alongside two George Â鶹ÊÓƵ peers. 

The Commonwealth Cyber Initiative Northern Virginia Node (CCI NoVa Node) is preparing for the third iteration of its Cybersecurity Traineeship Program, which offers a seven-week course to Virginia residents interested in pivoting into the cybersecurity sector followed by career support from Â鶹ÊÓƵ and Northern Virginia Community College professionals.

Some Northern Virginia families will have free laptops in time for classes this fall, thanks to an enterprising group of Â鶹ÊÓƵ information technology students.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ was the first university to host the World Congress on Information Technology in June 21-24, 1998.

Britney Aiken, recent information technology grad, says joining the Break Through Tech program at George Â鶹ÊÓƵ allowed her to be surrounded by like -minded people who are just as interested in engineering as she is.

Break Through Tech at Â鶹ÊÓƵ will host its first on-campus event Monday, October 25.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ announced today a grant from Break Through Tech to propel more students who identify as women and non-binary into tech education—and ultimately tech careers—through curriculum innovation, career access, and community building. The goal of the grant is to increase the number of these students graduating with a tech degree at Â鶹ÊÓƵ by 12.5 percentage points by 2026.

Â鶹ÊÓƵ is announcing a large-scale expansion of its Arlington Campus to grow its computing programs, advance research in high-tech fields and rapidly increase the number of highly skilled graduates for Amazon and other regional employers.
