Professor Aditya Johri from the Information Sciences and Technology Department recently returned from an impactful three-week mission to Aalto University in Finland as part of the Fulbright Specialist Program.

Each year, academic professionals teach and conduct research abroad through the highly competitive Fulbright Scholar Program. �鶹��Ƶ has a rich history of sending and hosting faculty and staff through the program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of State. This year, Frank Krueger of the College of Science, Nathalia Peixoto of the College of Engineering and Computing, and Yali Pan of the Office of International Programs and Services, received Fulbright awards.

The U.S. Department of State has named �鶹��Ƶ a “Top Producing Institution” of Fulbright U.S. Scholars in 2024-25. The university has more Fulbrights this academic year—eight—than in any year in its history.

Eight �鶹��Ƶ faculty members from seven colleges will be traveling the globe this academic year to share their expertise as Fulbright Scholars.

As a Fulbright U.S. Scholar, Professor Chawky Frenn will conduct international research while teaching at Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, India, in the fall.

Carolyn Drews-Botsch, professor of global and community health, will be traveling to Ireland on a Fulbright in the fall of 2024 for this hybrid teaching and research role.

�鶹��Ƶ professor Jennifer Leeman will spend the fall semester at the Universidad de Murcia in Spain, where she will lecture on topics in applied linguistics and sociolinguistics, as well as aid in the supervision of doctoral students.

¡Felicidades! Border policy expert Guadalupe Correa-Cabrera receives a Fulbright fellowship to study and teach in Mexico.

�鶹��Ƶ adjunct professor David J. Gerleman has been selected as a recipient of a 2024-25 Fulbright Scholar Award. He will teach two courses at the University of Debrecen, one of Hungary's most prestigious higher education institutions.

Six whirlwind months as a visiting professor on a Fulbright fellowship at the Schar School helped sinologist Gundumella Venkat Raman teach, learn, and make connections in Washington, D.C.
