Mengxin Zhao, PhD, CFA, joins the Costello College of Business as an associate professor of finance. Prior to this appointment, she served as a senior financial economist at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and was an associate professor of finance at the University of Alberta. Mengxin has taught at institutions including George Washington University, Boston University, and Bentley University. Her research focuses on corporate finance, international finance, and capital market frictions. She has published extensively in top-tier journals, including the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Management Science, ²¹²Ô»å Review of Corporate Finance Studies. Her work has received numerous awards and more than 4,800 citations. Mengxin holds a PhD in finance from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as degrees in economics from the State University of New York at Albany and Peking University. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and has delivered presentations at numerous academic conferences and university seminars.
